Monday March 23, 2020

A word from our pastor,

I wanted to give you a brief update on the status of things at FBCW.  Wow
Although we could not physically meet on Sunday March 22, I believe that we were all together in the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We were able to livestream our worship on Facebook and as of Monday morning there have already been around 1,200 views of that service…we don’t know how many folks there were per view, or even if all of them stayed engaged through the entire service…but the response is phenomenal.
I want to thank our church staff (I encourage you as members of this great church body to do so as well) for their cooperation and hard work over the past few days to make this happen.  I want to thank the members of our Technology Committee, AV team and Praise Team for putting forth the extra effort to make this possible for us to be able to worship as a church family on Sunday mornings.
I encourage our Bible Fellowship teachers to also be creative as to how to have a “virtual bible study.”  Some leaders are emailing the lesson and others are creating virtual SS classrooms utilizing online meeting platforms.  If you need help, please contact Curtis and he can point you in the right direction.  We are providing the literature on our website for each age group.  You may even want to have Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship in your living room – Mom, Dad – you can teach your children, in fact you should be teaching your children God’s word each week.  You might be surprised what you learn as you prepare to teach your own children God’s Word.
Nothing has changed as of today (Monday Mar. 23rd) as to our plans for re-opening our buildings to any activity…so you are encouraged to stay home, hunker-down, and stay healthy. We plan to livestream our worship again next week.  We hope to “see” you there with us.
One final note – don’t forget to love and pray for each other during this time.  Many are unsure, afraid and in despair, others have physical needs that you can meet.  Check on our members, love them, pray for them, and meet the needs of our church family please!

Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure.” Malachi 3:10

As believers, we understand that our money and resources are not ours, but the Lord’s.  Giving should not be a burden, but a joy! The Lord uses your tithes and offerings to reach others with the good news of His love and saving grace every day. Thank you for honoring God with your giving.
