First Baptist Church Whitesboro is using twitter as a communication tool between the church staff and church members. Twitter is a free service on the web that allows someone to send short status updates to multiple followers. All twitter messages are limited to 140 characters. An example of how FBCW may use Twitter is to notify our members about upcoming events as well as time changes or cancellations. Twitter has recently updated their policy so that individuals may receive updates without having a twitter account. To get started:
- Send a text message to the number 404‐04 with the following text in the message: follow fbcwhitesboro
- Be sure to check with your provider to make sure text messages are covered in your phone’s service plan; Twitter doesn’t charge you but your carrier might, so make sure you double check to avoid a big bill.
